1. Free plan
The Free plan has no subscription charge. Because there is no fee for the plan itself, there is nothing to refund for ordinary Free plan use.
2. Paid plans and free trials
Pro and Household currently include a 14-day free trial for first-time paid subscribers unless a different offer is shown at checkout.
If you cancel during the trial, you will not be charged for the upcoming subscription period.
3. First-charge refund window
After a first paid charge for Pro or Household, Settlwise offers a 7-day refund window for that initial charge. If you are unsatisfied during that window, contact us and we will review the request in good faith.
4. Renewal charges
Subscription renewals are generally non-refundable once processed, except where required by law, where we made a billing error, or where Settlwise approves a refund in writing due to exceptional circumstances.
5. Billing errors and duplicate charges
If you were charged incorrectly, billed twice, or renewed in error due to a confirmed processing issue, Settlwise will correct the charge or issue an appropriate refund or service credit after review.
6. Cancellation timing
Cancelling a subscription prevents future renewal charges. Cancellation does not automatically generate a refund for the current billing period unless the charge is eligible under this Policy or applicable law.
After cancellation, paid access generally continues through the end of the current paid term.
7. Situations that normally are not refunded
- forgetting to cancel before a scheduled renewal date;
- unused time remaining in a monthly or annual subscription after the refund window;
- downgrading after a renewal has already been processed;
- service suspension or termination caused by violation of the Terms.
8. How to request a refund
To request a refund, email billing@settlwise.com with the account email, charge date, amount, and a short explanation of the issue.
We aim to review refund requests promptly. If approved, refunds are usually returned to the original payment method, subject to payment processor timing.
9. Policy updates
We may update this Refund Policy as pricing, plan structure, or billing operations evolve. The most current version will be posted on this page with the updated effective date.
